As part of the Army of Drones project, the world’s first combat drone companies began to be formed in Ukraine. The formation of such units was approved by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs.
It is reported that a coordination headquarters was created for the comprehensive implementation of this idea together with the Ministry of Defence, the General Staff, and the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine within the framework of the Army of Drones project.
The General Staff noted that this is necessary to implement a number of key reforms and scale up the production of drones for the Defence Forces.
“The most professional service members who will lead the combat companies have already been selected. Each of them will receive drones and ammunition, Starlink and other necessary equipment to defeat the enemy in hot spots,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
Military personnel selected for these units will undergo special training.
As a reminder, after the war started in Ukraine, most of the world’s armies began to revise the principles of tactical intelligence with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles. Experience has shown that it does not make sense to invest huge sums in expensive drones, although this is exactly what NATO armies did. In modern warfare, many cheap drones are needed which should be produced massively and quickly.
At present, the Ukrainian military, using simple commercial UAVs, launches strikes on the positions of the occupation army, inflicting serious equipment and manpower losses.
