The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak had a telephone conversation with political advisers to the heads of state of the “Normandy Four” – France, Germany, and Russia.
According to the press service of the Office of the President, the parties discussed security issues, achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and access to the OSCE SMM to the uncontrolled territory of Donbas.
They also discussed the preparation of a video conference of the Tripartite Contact Group, where Ukraine will have an expanded representation, including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov, Deputy Ministers and MPs.
“I believe that expanding and increasing the level of representation in the TCG will help improve the regime of the ceasefire. That is why at the next TCG conference Ukraine will be represented by the Deputy Minister of Defense,”
Yermak said.
It will be recalled that on May 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of a Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Tripartite Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Ukrainian delegation to the TCG was headed by the second president of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma.
His first deputy became Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, and his deputy was Oleksandr Merezhko, a People’s Deputy. Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Polishchuk became a representative in the security subgroup.
