What to Expect from Next Ramstein Format Meeting?

On 14-15 February 2023, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of defence ministers will be held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels. The meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

In addition, a separate meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Ramstein format, organised by the USA, is planned. Western allies will discuss providing Kyiv with weapons that will allow seizing the initiative in the war with Russia.

Defence Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov announced that the protection of the sky and the provision of fighter jets to Ukraine will be the key topic of the ninth Ramstein format meeting. According to him, the allies will discuss the following issues:

• Formation of ammunition stockpile
• Training programmes for the Ukrainian army
• Stability of support: logistics, maintenance, repair, practical implementation of “military Schengen”
