On 4-6 January, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will make his third visit to Ukraine at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
The visit of the chief European diplomat aims to show the EU’s support for Ukraine against the background of aggressive actions of the Russian Federation.
On 5 January, Kuleba and Borrell will visit the demarcation line in the Luhansk region where they will get acquainted with the current security situation in the zone of the Russian–Ukrainian armed conflict.
This will be the first visit of the EU High Representative to Donbas since the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Kuleba and Borrel will hold talks, the key topics of which will be deterring Russia from further aggression, including through tough economic sanctions, promoting a peaceful settlement based on respect for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity; as well as implementing humanitarian projects in Donbas, supporting further internal transformations in our country.
