The vast majority of Ukrainian citizens are optimistic about the future and believe that the country will become a prosperous member of the European Union in 10 years.
Such data were published by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) based on a survey conducted on 21-23 October.
“Eighty-eight percent of Ukrainians believe that Ukraine will be a prosperous member of the European Union in 10 years. At the same time, 63% of them fully share this view, and 26% rather agree. Only 5% of respondents have pessimistic expectations, thinking that Ukraine will be a devastated country with an outflow of people in 10 years,” the statement reads.
Respondents who are optimistic about the future of Ukraine were also asked an additional question: are they ready to experience financial difficulties for three to five years to achieve a positive result in the future? A total of 96% of Ukrainians answered that they were ready to experience financial hardship during the specified period if Ukraine became a prosperous country and a member of the European Union.
