The US is ready to co-operate in the creation of the Crimean platform. That was announced by Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Kristina A. Kvien during a meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Japarova.
Japarova thanked the United States for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity support and its unwavering stance on Russia’s aggression in the Donbas and the illegal occupation of Crimea. She informed the interlocutor in detail about the Ukrainian side vision of the main elements and substantive content of the Crimean platform, the primary purpose of which should be to consolidate the non-recognition policy of the Crimea occupation by the international community.
In her turn, Kristina Kvien expressed readiness to cooperate with Ukraine. She stressed that the US position enshrined in the Declaration on Crimea, promulgated by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, remains firm and unchanged, that Crimea is a part of Ukraine and the United States would never recognise Russia’s attempts to annex it.
Japarova also stressed the importance of adopting the updated and significantly strengthened resolutions “The militarisation problem of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine, as well as the parts of the Black and Azov Seas” and “the human rights state in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine.” It will soon be submitted for consideration by the UN General Assembly by Ukraine.
