DEUkrainian media, referring to their own sources in the law enforcement agencies, note that the explosion on the Crimea Bridge on 8 October is a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Currently, the special service is not officially commenting on its participation in this event.
“We do not comment on it. We will comment on the role of the Security Service of Ukraine or any government agency of Ukraine in strikes after our final victory,” said Artem Dekhtyarenko, spokesperson for the Security Service of Ukraine.
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, posted on Twitter that the morning fire on the Crimea Bridge is just the beginning.
“Crimea, the bridge, the beginning. Everything illegal must be destroyed, everything stolen must be returned to Ukraine, everything occupied by Russia must be expelled,” Podolyak noted.
According to preliminary data, the second lane of the road of the bridge is heavily damaged, so full traffic in both directions is impossible.
The powerful explosion set fire to fuel tanks on the railway section, damaging the railway track.
At the moment, traffic on the bridge is suspended.
In Kerch, after the explosion and fire on the bridge, a queue of several kilometers formed for the ferry crossing to leave the peninsula.
As experts note, the damage to the Crimea Bridge means the cessation of the comprehensive supply of forces and means by rail for the Russian-occupation forces on the entire southern bridgehead. At the same time, the supply will be stopped not only for advanced units but the deep rear as well.
