The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU) significantly strengthened Ukraine’s border with the Russian Federation and Belarus, as well as the section of the border with Moldova in the Transnistrian segment.
The sections of the border with Belarus and Moldova are given utmost attention. The number of fortifications and mined areas has increased there. The occupiers are redeploying forces and hardware to the territory of Belarus. But so far, no strike group that could invade from the territory of Belarus has been observed.
“Currently, there are no changes in the situation on the border with Belarus. It remains controlled. The Armed Forces of Belarus continue taking measures to shield the border with our country within Brest and Gomel regions. The size of troops and the nature of their actions do not change,” Andriy Demchenko, SBGSU spokesman, said at a briefing.
According to him, the composition of the units of the Armed Forces of Belarus changes only on a rotational basis.
“Unfortunately, the Republic of Belarus does not stop supporting Russia’s armed aggression against our country, providing its territory, airspace, and infrastructure. The constant threat of missile strikes and airstrikes, as well as drone attacks, remains daily. In addition, we see that Russia and Belarus whip up the situation regarding the creation of a so-called joint grouping of troops and the redeployment of the forces and hardware of the aggressor country to Belarus. So far, a strike group that could invade from the territory of Belarus has not been noticed,” Demchenko said.
He added that the threat in this direction remained, but all security and defence forces of Ukraine guarding and defending the border with Belarus were ready for any development of events.
As a reminder, the Russian occupiers continue shelling the border areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions from the territory of Russia with the use of MLRS, mortars, and tube artillery. Only over the past day, six Ukrainian communities came under enemy fire.
