Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna and Acting Head of Support Group for Ukraine, and Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Katarína Mathernová signed agreements on EU’s assistance within the framework of the meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.
“The war continues to wreak havoc on people’s lives, infrastructure, and the economy of Ukraine. The upcoming winter period brings additional threats. Therefore, the signed agreements are an opportunity for Ukraine to receive additional financial, technical, and other types of assistance from the EU. We are grateful to the EU for its leadership and such important decisions,” Stefanishyna said.
In particular, the concluded agreements will contribute to:
- Provision of housing to internally displaced persons, as well as persons who have returned home
- Food security and economic stability of the country
- Sustainable functioning of state institutions
- Elimination of restrictions on external financing, etc.
