Ukraine hopes to release 11 Ukrainians during the next prisoner swap as a delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group have already submitted the relevant lists.
“We submitted documents for 11 people. They are completely ready. We are waiting for the relevant submissions from certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions because this exchange is not just a one-sided action. So far we do not see any steps forward by certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In addition, we put a question more broadly. We do not know how many people suffer from various forms of pressure in those areas. But we know that such people are there, and we want the ‘all for all’ format to finally start to be implemented. The first thing is to exchange people whose names are already included in the prepared lists. Afterward, we should act according to the ‘all for all’ principle and make every effort to fulfill it in the near future,” Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk announced.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian side within the Trilateral Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas proposes conducting a prisoner swap until December 24 of this year, particularly until Christmas. However, Russia is blocking consideration of this issue so far.
The last prisoner swap in Donbas took place on April 16. Twenty Ukrainian citizens held captive in the temporarily occupied territories were released, and the President’s Office published a list of their names.
