Our country received the third tranche worth EUR 1.5 billion within the framework of large-scale macro-financial assistance for 2023. The total volume of preferential financing from the EU under the specified programme now reaches EUR 18 billion.
Ukraine received the first tranche in the amount of EUR 3 billion in January 2023. The second tranche worth EUR 1.5 billion was transferred to the state budget in March of this year.
Thus, the total direct budget support from the EU reached EUR 6 billion in 2023.
“For the first four months of 2023, Ukraine received the largest amount of financial aid from the European Union. I am grateful to my colleagues from the EU for their leadership in supporting Ukraine and consistency in providing funds which helps to implement the current year’s state budget timely and fully,” said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko.
As a reminder, the funds are provided on unprecedented preferential terms for Ukraine and will be channeled into financing the most urgent expenses of the state budget. The next tranches within the large-scale macro-financial assistance program framework will be transferred to the state budget during 2023.
