Ukraine has been granted observer status of the European Union Health Committee. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov.
According to him, the other day the European Commission sent a letter. Stepanov stressed that this is a very important event, as this Committee includes all leading EU countries. The meetings of the Committee consider the response of countries to critical situations in the field of health care.
The Minister believes that such membership will benefit the health care system of Ukraine.
A day before, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky published an address on the occasion of Europe Day, in which he stated that the construction of a successful Europe can not be considered complete without Ukraine.
In addition, the head of state confirmed Ukraine’s movement towards the European Union and expressed hope that our state would be a full part of the European family.
“This year, our European friends celebrated the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Schuman Declaration, from which the European Union actually began its countdown. Robert Schumann’s words are still relevant today: “Europe will not be built immediately or according to a single plan.” A united, prosperous, and successful Europe is being built. It is obvious to me that this process cannot be considered complete without Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
He also noted that the phrase “Ukraine is Europe” should not become just a formal slogan, which is mentioned once a year. Instead, it should be part of our consciousness.
