President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is ready for a new meeting in the “Normandy format”, and the Ukrainian side, unlike Russia, has taken steps to implement the agreements of last December’s summit in Paris. This opinion was expressed by the First Deputy Head of the Delegation of Ukraine to the Tripartite Contact Group, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
“It seems to me that this would be possible even in video conference mode. It would be, so to speak, the political will of all four leaders. I can tell you for sure that the President of Ukraine is ready for this meeting and this conversation. But, in fact, today there is a discussion and inventory at all different levels, whether all parties have fulfilled the agreements reached in Paris on December 9,” the official said.
He stressed that he had personally invited the head of the Russian delegation to the Tripartite Contact Group, Borys Gryzlov, to conduct this inventory.
“For example, let’s see if the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross have access to places of detention today. Unfortunately, the Russian Federation did not ensure the implementation of this agreement, although their leader, President Volodymyr Putin, was and confirmed that they are ready to achieve this, “said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Reznikov reminded that they also did not agree to start work in two places on the line of contact in Donbas, where humanitarian checkpoints, which are of humanitarian significance, are to open. Although the Ukrainian authorities, for their part, did everything necessary in Zolote, repair work did not begin on the part of the Russian-backed militants, even despite security guarantees.
