The Ukrainian Embassy in Belgium hosted a ceremony of presenting certificates of foreign Ukrainians to Oksana, Andriy and Nadiya Senychak, the Embassy’s Facebook page reports.
“Foreign Ukrainians continue to contribute to the development of the Ukrainian state, the promotion of Ukrainian culture and the support of the Ukrainian language abroad. The certificate attests the affiliation of a person or his or her ancestors to the Ukrainian nation and its recognition of Ukraine as the homeland of its ethnic origin,” the statement says.
It should be recalled that on 15 July 2020, the 46th meeting of the National Commission for Foreign Ukrainians took place under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar.

A foreign Ukrainian is a person who is a citizen of another state or a stateless person. He/she also has a Ukrainian ethnic origin, which means such a person or his ancestors belong to the Ukrainian nation and recognise Ukraine as the homeland of their ethnic origin.
One of the cornerstone constitutional obligations of Ukraine as a state, enshrined in Article 12 of the Constitution of Ukraine, is to meet the national, cultural and linguistic needs of Ukrainians living outside the state.
