A critical situation with the coronavirus pandemic is in the occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts.
This was announced by Pavlo Lysyansky on his Facebook page. Lysyansky is the representative of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
“Currently, three diagnoses are being made in ORDLO: SARS, pneumonia, coronavirus. People with the first two diagnoses are sent home, and the occupiers keep silent about the real number of coronavirus patients,” said the ombudsman’s representative.
According to him, hospitals in the territory of Donbas today are not controlled by the government of Ukraine and are already overcrowded with patients, and pharmacies lack the necessary personal protective equipment.
Lysyansky added that despite the pandemic, Russian-backed militants and local authorities are holding mass events. He also stressed that the staff of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine continues to collect information about human rights violations in ORDLO.
