The case of the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet is one of the most difficult in the history of Ukraine because it was prepared very carefully. The main purpose of the investigation of this case is to identify all those involved, up to the customers.
This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko.
He said that the murder of the journalist was well thought out: everyone was without phones, their faces were hidden because the route was reconnoitered, they walked, the escape routes were thought out so that the couple got out and went nowhere, did not get in a car or subway.
“During the investigation of Sheremet’s case, a lot of versions were studied, people were tracked, followed, their moves were checked, etc.,” he added.
According to him, Sheremet’s case is not Avakov’s case, it is a case involving a group of police, about 15 people.
“The task of the police is to find the guilty, the task of the prosecutor’s office is to prevent the persecution of the innocent,” Gerashchenko said.
We will remind, in 2019 police officers detained 3 suspects in the murder of the journalist. These are a doctor and volunteer Yulia Kuzmenko, musician Andriy Antonenko, military nurse Yana Duhar. In May 2020, it became known that the National Police of Ukraine was preparing a case for the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet to court.
