The first Prime Minister of independent Ukraine, Vitold Fokin, will join the Ukrainian delegation to the Tripartite Contact Group for the settlement of the conflict in Donbas.
According to the Head of the delegation Leonid Kravchuk, Fokin will be the coordinator of communications of all parties.
“As for Vitold Pavlovich, he is a well-known person in Donbas, and as far as I can tell you, as far as I know, he is offered the position of coordinator of talks or communications of all parties,” said the first President of Ukraine.
He also added that “some people from Donbas went to Ukraine. That is 1 million and 600,000 people live here. Some of them, two people, I already know them, I met them, they are part of the Ukrainian delegation in the contact group. There are people who live outside the territory controlled by Ukraine. But they are not all militants. There is a civil society; there are people who think differently, see the situation differently. They need to be found, communicated, negotiated.”
It should be recalled that Vitold Fokin was invited to join the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.
The former Ukrainian Prime Minister has expressed readiness to visit the occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts together with a group of politicians to hold talks on resolving the situation.
