Security forces caught the official on a bribe of 2 million hryvnias

The Security Service of Ukraine together with NABU under the procedural guidance of the SAP detained the head of one of the regional state administrations and an official of the same regional state administration for extorting money from the heads of some controlling structures in the region, Ukrainian Pravda reports.

According to her, the detainee is the head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration Andriy Balon.

According to the pre-trial investigation, the head of the regional state administration planned to illegally receive 1.8 million hryvnias from the regional office of the state body in the region.

The operatives of the special service documented the receipt by the mediator of the first part of the illegal benefit in the amount of 100 thousand hryvnias in June 2020.

Militiamen note that the head of the regional state administration together with an accomplice was detained during the transfer of the second “tranche” in the amount of UAH 250,000.

Procedural actions are underway.
