The 2nd summit of the Crimea Platform will be held online. More than 50 representatives of foreign countries are expected to attend this year.
“About 60 countries and international organisations will take part in the Crimea Platform summit. Among them, about 40 [will attend the summit] at the level of presidents and prime ministers,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
In particular, the leaders of European, Asian, Latin American, and African countries; the European Commission and the Council of Europe; NATO; and the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people are among the participants. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will open the event.
As a reminder, the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform was held in Kyiv on 23 August 2021. It was attended by representatives of 47 countries and international organisations that approved a joint interstate decision on actions to stop annexation and restore Ukraine’s sovereignty over Crimea.
In addition, the participating states agreed to create the “International Crimea Platform as a consultative and coordination format for the peaceful termination of the temporary occupation.”
