Since the beginning of this year, the Anti-Terrorist Centre under the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has conducted more than 900 anti-terrorist and counter-subversive activities. According to the results of these actions, almost 1 million people were checked in different regions of Ukraine.
In addition, during the relevant measures, 578 criminal proceedings were initiated over crimes against the national security of our state.
In particular, in the Kirovohrad region:
A railway worker was detained who, on the instructions of the FSB, tried to install a GPS tracker at one of the local energy facilities. According to the investigation data, the occupiers planned to use the electronic “beacon” to prepare targeted airstrikes on the region’s energy system.
SBU investigators served the detainee with a notice of charges under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed in wartime). The perpetrator faces life imprisonment.
In addition, in the course of counter-sabotage measures at nuclear power plants in the Mykolayiv, Rivne, and Khmelnytskyi regions, 13 workers, who were actively in contact with the Russian special services, were exposed. At the same time, the identities of six more officials of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, who provided the aggressor with information about the specifics of the operation of nuclear plants, were established.
In the Lviv region:
At one of the critical infrastructure enterprises, a group of “activists” of pro-Kremlin NGOs, including the “Congress of Russian Communities of the Western Regions of Ukraine,” was exposed.
In the Vinnytsia region:
Investigative actions are ongoing regarding an employee of the law enforcement agency who was “in contact” with a Russian lieutenant general – the head of the FSB department of counterintelligence operations.
In the Volyn region:
Eight local residents at a local defence facility were detected who maintained contacts with officials of enterprises of the military-industrial complexes of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
In the Poltava region:
A cache of weapons was discovered in the warehouse of a local farm. In particular, three Russian-made cluster aerial bombs were found.
In addition, the following objects were removed from the cache:
• Eight anti-tank aerial bombs
• One air-to-ground missile
• Almost 7,000 TNT bombs with detonators
• 318 anti-tank mines.
Based on all the exposed facts, comprehensive measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the crimes and bring the guilty to justice.
