SBU Blocks 43 Cyberattacks on Ukrainian Authorities in August

In August 2021, specialists of the Cyber Security Situation Centre of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) identified and neutralised 43 cyber attacks targeting information systems run by public authorities.

This happened through the analysis of more than 36,000 critical information security events.

For the most part, the main types of detected cyber attacks included:

• connections to command and control servers (C&C Server);
• attempts to gain unauthorised access (Brute Force Attack);
• web app attacks;
• malware;
• and others.

As a reminder, in the first six months of this year, specialists of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine blocked 1.7 million network attacks on state bodies.
