In the afternoon on Thursday, 8 June, the Russian occupiers began shelling Kherson.
“The Russians are shelling Kherson. They are pummeling the coastal areas and the central part of the city,” Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reports.
According to Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Russians are shelling the city at a time while the evacuation of people from flooded areas is ongoing.
At the same time, Ukrainian mass media report that the Russians are shelling the city with Grad MLRS.
Today, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Kherson, where he held a coordination meeting on eliminating the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP dam explosion. He also visited a crossing point in Kherson, where the population is being evacuated from flooded areas.
