According to the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the service members of the aggressor country begin to realise Russia’s military defeat. Being aware of the inevitability of punishment for war crimes against the people of Ukraine, the occupiers demand that the command classify their participation in the invasion.
Such appeals have become particularly massive in the units of Russian aerospace forces, not only for the direct perpetrators of the crimes but also for former military personnel who took part in the preparations for the invasion of Ukraine and tried to hide from revenge for the mass killings of civilians and the destroyed infrastructure of Ukraine.
In particular, the military intelligence of Ukraine identified the war criminals – servicemen of the 277th bomber aviation regiment of the 303rd mixed aviation division of the 11th air force and air defence army (military unit No. 77983), stationed at Khurba airfield in Khabarovsk Krai. Most of them were involved in missile and bomb strikes on the territory of Ukraine from Lida and Baranovichi airfields in Belarus, as well as Borisoglebsk and Marinovka airfields in the Russian Federation.
The occupiers are trying to avoid responsibility for the mass killings of civilians and complicity in the preparation of such crimes by demanding the command provide them with false documents on medical treatment or vacation. Some of the pilots are demanding documents that they were no longer serving in the unit at the time of the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
“No documents will help. All war criminals will be brought to justice for crimes against the civilian population of Ukraine,” the Defence Ministry of Ukraine underscored.
