Russia can start arms supplies to the Donbas rebels officially if the United States allocates $300 million for military assistance and strategic, the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Chairman Leonid Kalashnikov declared.
“$300 millions allocation in military aid to Ukraine by the United States allows us to help those people whom they want to shoot at with this weapon – the DPR and the LPR. Under such conditions, we also have the right to supply weapons officially to these republics,” Kalashnikov said.
According to him, Russia will “protect people from the other side in this way.”
To recap, both independent investigators and Ukraine’s military intelligence have repeatedly stated that the Russian Federation provides the Donbas rebels with weapons, ammunition, military equipment and fuel and lubricants to the full. Besides, Russia allegedly funds the illegal armed groups in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The investigators of the downed MH17 case have collected the evidence of the Russian authorities’ participation in the armed conflict in Ukraine, namely through the supply of weapons and ammunition to the Donbas rebels. The investigation claims, in particular, that the Buk anti-aircraft missile system, which shot down the passenger aircraft, also arrived from Russia together with the military crew.
