The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Russian president Vladimir Putin had ordered Russian troops to reach the administrative border of the Donetsk region by 15 September.
“The enemy continues to hold the occupied areas of the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions and also tries to create favourable conditions for the resumption of the offensive. Thus, the Russian-occupation forces once again adjust their plans and actions in accordance with Putin’s order to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk region by 15 September,” said Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Hromov also noted that the enemy continued to regroup formations and military units of the 3rd army corps to the occupied territory, presumably to increase the grouping of its troops and create conditions for resuming the offensive in the Donetsk operational area.
“According to the received data, due to significant personnel losses, the higher command of the Russian armed forces made a decision to disband 31 separate airborne assault brigades of the airborne troops and 22 separate special purpose brigades, in which, taking into account the losses, less than 20% of the personnel remained alive,” said the representative of the General Staff.
