Dear friends, partners, and members of the public,

We, the NGO “Promote Ukraine,” would like to officially comment on the planned event in support of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, scheduled to take place on July 28, 2024, at 18:00 in the La Planque hall in Ganshoren.

Our goal is to organize a meeting with Ukrainian defenders who have heroically protected and continue to defend the entire civilised world and civilians from the Russian regime on the front lines in places such as Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and many other dangerous areas.

We also want to emphasize that the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine are two separate military units. Both are official state units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine but belong to different departments. Azov is part of the National Guard, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while the 3rd Assault Brigade is part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, subordinate to the Ministry of Defense. Each unit has its own history, its own combat path, and different command.

The history of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade began with the Territorial Defense, created in the first hours of the Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022. In January 2023, the unit was transferred to the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and expanded to the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. Since then, the brigade has participated in the defense of Kyiv, the liberation of the Kherson region, and other important defense operations.

It should also be noted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally presented the battle flag to the brigade and visited the brigade headquarters at the front, indicating a high level of trust in this unit.

Among the soldiers of the brigade are representatives of different nations—Georgians, Americans, Jews, Armenians, Tatars, Belarusians, Swedes, etc.—who are fighting side by side with Ukrainians to stop the genocide started by the Russian Federation. They protect not only Ukraine but the entire civilized world from the totalitarian threat posed by the Russian Federation.

The aim of the information campaign “Dvizh” by the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to hold meetings with defenders who fought and were wounded in the most dangerous areas of the front—Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and the Kharkiv region. We want to emphasize that the event is not aimed at recruitment. It is exclusively aimed at providing information support to our defenders.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that Russia continues to spread propaganda in EU countries. Therefore, we urge all journalists to carefully check the facts and be cautious when publishing information. Your responsible approach to the dissemination of information will help avoid misinformation and maintain objectivity.

Thank you for your attention and support. We look forward to a fruitful meeting and cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect and solidarity.
