The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) exposed the illegal activities of the pseudo special service of the so-called “LPR” in the government-controlled territory. In particular, the agents who planned to blow up a SSU officer and carry out a number of other terrorist attacks in Ukraine were exposed.
The SSU managed to find an intruder who was recruiting Ukrainians in the frontline area. He turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of Severodonetsk, who joined the ranks of the so-called “LPR special service” in 2018. He received a passport of the pseudo republic in autumn of the same year and a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation a year later.
At the request of curators from Russia, the attacker formed an intelligence network, mostly from close relatives of SSU officers. He recruited them using blackmail and psychological pressure, as well as threatening physical violence against relatives and illegal deprivation of property located in the temporarily occupied territory.
On 29 July, the spy of the so-called “LPR” mined an official car of the SSU officer in the Luhansk region. Through the efforts of the SSU’s internal security and counterintelligence units, his plan was thwarted and the recruited agents were identified.
