Despite the lack of access to the territory of Crimea and the practice of carrying out representative activities under temporary occupation, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (ARC) has returned this year almost UAH 4 million to the state budget for the flights in international airspace over the Black Sea, accounting for UAH 1 million every quarter.
In particular, the Commercial Court of Kyiv Region sustained in full force and effect the claims of the Prosecutor of the ARC in the interests of the state against two foreign airlines over the payment of arrears for the use of air navigation services in the airspace of Ukraine, including for flights in international airspace over the Black Sea. In addition, during the court hearing, one of the airlines of the United Arab Emirates voluntarily paid the debt in full.
Earlier, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, the court arrested 13 aircraft of a Russian airline carrying passengers from/to the Simferopol-Avia checkpoint closed by Ukraine. It is located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
