Every day, Ukraine loses 60-100 soldiers who are killed in the war against the Russian Federation.
“The situation is very difficult. We’re losing 60-100 soldiers per day as killed in action and something around 500 people as wounded in action. So, we are holding our defensive perimeters,” President Volodymyr Zelensky told Newsmax in an interview.
The fiercest fighting continues now in eastern Ukraine, he noted.
According to Zelensky, Putin cannot win, and the world must stop defending him amid the latest atrocities of the Russian army.
“Now, he [Putin] is almost isolated. The world always keeps giving him a chance because the sanctions are not imposed completely. There are gaps in some of the leaders saying the Russian leader should be offered a way out,” the President said.
He also underscored that Ukraine does not plan to attack Russia but is not going to surrender its territories and will not accept Russia’s ultimatums.
“When it comes to ultimatums and ‘You have to surrender a third of your territory and then we will leave you in peace and keep you alive.’ it is not something we can agree to,” Zelensky said.
He added that the Ukrainians want to unblock their occupied cities, and this requires ammunition that can hit targets at a distance of up to 100 kilometres.
