DEOn the night of 13 March, Russian aircraft struck the International Centre for Peacekeeping and Security in Lviv region, better known as the Yavoriv military training area.
According to Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi, the occupiers launched about 30 missiles. Some of them were shot down by air defence forces.
As a result of this attack, 35 people were killed, 134 more with various injuries were taken to hospitals.
Russian military planes took off from Russian Saratov to the Black Sea waters. It was from there that the strikes were launched.
It is noteworthy that the Yavoriv military training area is located 20km from the border with Poland, which is a member of the European Union and NATO.
Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov once again called for closing the sky over Ukraine due to the Russian attack.
“This is new terrorist attack on peace and security near the EU-NATO border. Action must be taken to stop this. Close the sky!” he urged.
It is also reported that Russian aircraft hit the Sviatohirsk Lavra in the Donetsk region.
According to the Centre for Strategic Communications, there are currently 520 refugees at the Sviatohirsk Lavra, including 200 children. There are almost 10,000 refugees and locals in the town of Sviatohirsk.
The Lavra leadership notes that there were no military formations in the territory of the monastery and the town.
