Ukrainian Christmas Market in Antwerp 
On 21 December organisations Barvinok, Plast, OUB, and Promote Ukraine as well as Mission of Ukraine to NATO organised a common Ukrainian Christmas Market in Antwerp. Mission to NATO generously donated all the earnings to the NGOs that were present on the Market. Promote Ukraine raised altogether 337 Euro, which will be added to the funds collected previously on the fashion show in frames of the project Music for Life

Music for Life for Ukraine 
On 19 December in frames of Music for Life a Ukrainian party with fashion show and national Ukrainian bites and drinks as well as souvenirs was held in Antwerp. More than 500 Euro were raised. All the earnings go to charity and especially for the gifts for the children from the war areas in the East of Ukraine. Partners of the event are fashion magazine “Boom Plus TV”, Ukrainian school for children with special needs “Dzherelo”, and organisation that helps people in war areas ”Donbass SOS’. Among the guests of the evening we were pleased to welcome Mark Demesmaeker, a Belgian MEP, Sophie De Vos, consul of the Belgian embassy in Kyiv, Mieke de Vreede, member of Belgian NGO Woman in Black, Galina Matyushina, a deputy of the City Council of Antwerp as well as Vakhtang Kipiani, a famous Ukrainian journalist 

Members the NGO Promote Ukraine, as well as of Peace for Ukraine. Platform Belgium. and Alliance of Nations for Democracy participated in the conference at the European Parliament on Dec. 9, 2014, organised by Fundacja Bronislawa Geremka – Speakers were Rebecca Harms, MEP, Jaroslav Neverovic, former minister of energy of Lithuania , Andrej Plenkovic, MEP. Savik Shuster, who is one of the most famous Ukrainian journalists, was moderating the panel

9 November 2014 Chairwoman of Promote Ukraine, Marta Barandiy delivered a speech before 900 people at Vredeswake Langemark, a peace vigil – commemoration of 100 years of First World War. Also speakers from Syria, Kongo, Palestina, Israel had chance to call participants upon active involvement in finding peaceful solution for these countries. War is a job of people, and peace as well. In Israel and Palestina people are being united by one initiative: WE REFUSE TO BE ENEMIES! This is the Land of the People, and its up to the people to decide whether to bring death or live

4 November 2014 Hanna Hopko, politician, co-founder of the Reanimation Package of Reforms, on the initiative of Promote Ukraine met Ukrainians of Belgium in warm atmosphere of the Ukrainian House, kindly provided by the Association of Ukrainians in Belgium

4 July 2014 the Belgian Platform “Peace for Ukraine” was presented in Antwerp. More than 50 people of different nationalities participated in the meeting. The activists from Ukraine Alisa Alexandra and Yulia Marushevska as well as activists from Russia joined the meeting through Skype. 

1 and 2 November Ukrainians in Belgium and their foreign friends had a chance to meet each other and talk in a relaxed atmosphere. Promote Ukraine organized an excursion to the zoo  of Antwerp last weekend.
Over 50 people joined the initiative, of course children were present as well. The excursion lasted for over 4 hours. Participants gathered energy and positive emotions for a complete week. And this for the reasonable price. Normally the price of a ticket is 22,5 euro, but with our discount, participants paid only 7, 5 euro.
Due to the success of the initiative and the expressed wish of the participants, we have decided to hold the hike on a frequent basis. From March we will organize a visit whether to the Antwerp Zoo or to Planckendael every month, thus giving the people not present this weekend, the chance to attend and discover more…

4 December 2014 the lecture The Role of Civil Society of Belgium in Promoting Peace in Ukraine was initiated by Promote Ukraine and organized by Vesalius College

28 November 2014 Promote Ukraine organised a round table “Ukraine in the EU-institutions: view from inside” in Antwerp. Representatives of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU as well as Ukrainians of Belgium had an opportunity to exchange experience and thoughts on improvement of  the cooperation between the official institutions of Ukraine abroad and the activists in order to use the full potential of such cooperation with the goal to promote Ukraine to the EU. The activists are eager to help, they have relevant education, experience and contacts. There is hope that in short period of time Ukrainian diplomacy will get modernized and it will open the way to the Ukrainian activists abroad for mutual support.
