Since the beginning of 2020, eight people among the civilian population have been killed and 47 more have been injured as a result of hostilities in Donbas. Such data are contained in the report of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. “The SMM continued to promote the establishment of local cessation of hostilities and to monitor compliance with the possibility of repairing, equipping and maintaining vital civilian infrastructure,” the report said.
It is also reported that between 29 June and 12 July, the SMM recorded about 5,200 ceasefire violations.
“The SMM stated the calm situation at the breeding site in the Stanytsia Luhanska district, then noting the presence of people at the breeding sites in the Zolotoy and Petrivsky districts. In addition, the Mission identified new extensions of armed forces’ positions in the Petrivsky breeding site, where violations of the ceasefire have been noted,” the report said.
The Mission also reported that it had facilitated repairs to the electricity transmission lines, which supply about 300,000 civilians on both sides of the line of contact in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
