Local elections in ORDLO may take place under certain conditions

At a Tripartite Contact Group meeting on June 10, the Ukrainian side had noted that local elections in ORDLO might take place after full de-escalation of Donbas conflict, foreign troops withdrawal and restoring Ukraine’s control over the border, the Office of the President of Ukraine stated.

“Within the framework of the working group on political issues, the Ukrainian side stated the possibility of holding local elections in some districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine during the statutory period after comprehensive de-escalation, foreign military units and equipment withdrawal, illegal armed groups disarmament and restoring the government control of Ukraine over the state border in the conflict zone”, the OP press service reported following the meeting.
