The Ukrainian delegation to the Tripartite Contact Group Head, Leonid Kravchuk suggested to review and discuss the Minsk agreements in the Donbas talks. He made such a statement on the air on the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
Kravchuk, in particular, proposed to revise all their points and the feasibility of their implementation.
“We need to take the main document, which was signed. It defines our steps, Ukraine to the Donbas. There are most probably 12 items. And then it is necessary to decide whether we will fulfil them or not. As the people who recorded these steps say today that following them is a betrayal,” the first President of Ukraine said.
He also stressed the importance of dialogue between the Ukrainian authorities and internally displaced persons from Donbas and those that currently live in the Russian-occupied territories.
“Citizens live there, and we call them Ukrainians. If they are Ukrainians, we need to have a dialogue with them. So, we think about how to coordinate the work with people, living in uncontrolled regions still, and people, who had to leave. How to bring them together, find out their wants and intention,” Kravchuk said.
Besides, he commented on the Deputy Head of the Russian Federation President Administration Dmitry Kozak’s letter about his exit from the negotiations on Donbas at the level of the advisers to the “Normandy Four” States’ Heads. The first President of Ukraine noted that one could consider this action a way to reduce the “Normandy Four” weight and influence.
