Kyrylo Budanov: Russian Federation Will Not Use Nuclear Weapons

Major General Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine believes that the Russian Federation will focus on occupying a larger area in Donetsk and Luhansk regions this year.

He called the resumption of the offensive from Belarus unlikely, such a step can only indicate the intention to distract and divide the defence forces, Budanov said.

He also added that “we must do everything possible so that Crimea returns home by the summer.”

Speaking about the entry of Ukrainian troops into occupied Crimea and the subsequent use of nuclear weapons by Putin, the Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted:

“It is not true. And Crimea will be returned to us. I will tell you more: everything started in Crimea in 2014, and everything will end there.”

The intelligence officer believes that this is a scare tactic. Russia is a country from which you can expect a lot, but not outright idiocy. A nuclear strike will result not just in Russia’s military defeat but in Russia’s disintegration. And they know it very well.
