The Russian Federation has lost the chance to succeed in the illegal Crimea occupation normalisation. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated this on the occasion of the second anniversary of the signing of the Crimean Declaration in the United States. The US did not admit the peninsula occupation by Russia in this declaration.
He also added, “Human rights violations and the militarisation of Crimea require increased pressure on the Kremlin to end the occupation and return the temporarily occupied peninsula to Ukraine.”
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin also commented on this date and proposed turning Crimea into a problem for Russia.
“The Baltic countries have been waiting for 50 years. We don’t have so much time. We have to turn Crimea into a problem for Russia internally and externally and to become better than Russia and adhere to real friends with shared values and future. And, of course, we should never stop, because if we stop fighting, why the others should fight for us? ” Klimkin emphasized.
Russian Foreign Ministry and spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded promptly to these statements, noting that “they (Kyiv – ed.) managed to turn Ukraine into a global problem.”
To recap, at the beginning of June, President Vladimir Zelensky declared, that “friendly communication between the Ukrainian and Russian people is impossible in the future without Crimea coming back to Ukraine.”
