Kravchuk: Russia in the TCG to Politicise All Humanitarian Issues

Russia politicises any social, humanitarian and economic issues and, correspondingly, slows down the coping with various problems. The head of the Ukrainian delegation in the Tripartite Contact Group Leonid Kravchuk stated this.

He noted that Ukraine regularly looks for solutions to specific issues with Russia and its “representatives” in ORDLO. But they permanently block these processes, shifting them to the political issues level such as the repeal of the law on local elections, which stipulated non-elections in some areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

“Ukraine has made proposals on how and when this can be implemented, but I repeat: it was Russia that linked any issue of exchange of detainees, economic problems, humanitarian concerns with political issues, which though have no connection with them at all,” Kravchuk said.

To recap, Russian media, referring to the sources close to the negotiation process on the Russian side, informed that there would be no exchange of prisoners between Kyiv and the occupied Donbas territories until the New Year.
