Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of the Kingdom of Belgium Sophie Wilmès; Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Stef Blok; and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn will make a joint working visit to Ukraine at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
The visit aims to demonstrate the solidarity of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg with Ukraine against the background of Russia’s destabilising actions.
The foreign ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg will visit the line of contact in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They will get acquainted with the security situation in the zone of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict and practical steps taken by Ukraine to facilitate the lives of the local population. In particular, the ministers will review the functioning of the entry-exit checkpoints.
On 7 May, Kuleba will hold talks with colleagues from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg to discuss consolidation of international support for Ukraine to deter Russia from further aggression, as well as to strengthen regional security, support Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and promote internal transformations in our country.
