Germany has been the target of Russian disinformation campaigns most often compared to other EU countries. In particular, more than 700 such cases have been recorded since the end of 2015, reads the report of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
“No other EU member state is attacked more brutally than Germany,” the document says.
In addition, “systematic campaigns” are conducted at the political level, as well as through the media outlets close to the Kremlin.
The EU reports that more than 700 cases of disinformation concerning Germany have been collected in the EUvs.Disinfo database since the end of 2015. France has been the target of spreading false information more than 300 times, Italy – about 170 times.
“The Kremlin is creating an intellectual image of Germany that has several intelligent voices in the chorus of irrational ‘Russophobia’,” the report says.
