On 8 April, the occupation forces in Donbas launched 11 attacks on Ukrainian defenders and shelled civilian infrastructure two times. Pro-Russian militants used 122mm artillery, 82mm mortars, anti-tank grenade launchers, and small arms. A Ukrainian serviceman received fatal injuries in the enemy shelling.
“In the area of the village of Vodiane, the enemy used artillery to hit civilian infrastructure twice. Our defenders fired back in response to the Russian-occupation forces’ attacks. The armed formations of the Russian Federation, with the help of modern EW equipment, continue to overtly obstruct the work of the OSCE Mission’s UAVs, both over the temporarily occupied territory and over the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine. In addition, the Russian-occupation forces continue to conduct military drills on firing ranges and training of mercenaries in order to carry out armed provocations and possible escalation of the conflict,” the Joint Forces Operation Headquarters informs.
As a reminder, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Russia prepares provocations in the Joint Forces Operation area in Donbas and builds up its presence in the temporarily occupied territories.
