Last night, the army of the Russian Federation launched a powerful attack on the southern regions of Ukraine with various types of missiles and combat drones.
As the Ministry of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine reports, Odesa and Chornomorsk ports were damaged as a result of the attack. The infrastructure of international and Ukrainian traders, reservoirs and berths involved in the work of the “grain corridor” were damaged. Thus, Russia continues to terrorize the world after withdrawing from the grain initiative.
“The attack on grain terminals is an act of aggression against the world. The goal of Russian terrorists is to disrupt any grain supply routes to global markets. This terrorist state is not only at war with Ukraine but also with the people of Africa and Asia, for whom this grain is a matter of survival. The world must protect the grain and port infrastructure. This is a guarantee, primarily, of global food security,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
It is reported that 60,000 tonnes of grain were destroyed only in the port of Chornomorsk, Odesa region. It was supposed to be loaded onto a large-tonnage ship and sent through the grain corridor 60 days ago.
“The night strike knocked out a significant part of the grain export infrastructure of the port of Chornomorsk. According to specialists’ estimates, it will take at least a year to fully restore the objects that were damaged last night,” the Ministry said.
At the same time, the Prosecutor General’s Office specified that a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war was initiated following the attack.
