Keeping local elections on 25 October 2020, in 18 territorial communities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, is impossible. This decision was made by the members of the Central Election Commission, based on the respective oblasts military-civil administrations’ conclusions.
As reported in the Central Election Commission press service, “the list of such communities includes 10 rural, settlement, town territorial communities of Bakhmut, Volnovakha, Mariupol and Pokrovsk districts of Donetsk region and eight Severodonetsk and Shchastyn districts of Luhansk region.”
The Commission also took note of the conclusion of the Luhansk administration that there is no possibility to organise and hold local elections in the polling stations (№ 440265, 440266, 440271, 440272, 440277) in the Novoaidar settlement community territory of the Shchastyn district of the Luhansk region.
To recap, the Central Election Commission appointed the first 1,441 elections of villages, settlements, town councils of territorial communities and the corresponding majors in all 24 areas of Ukraine on Sunday, 25 October 2020 at the meeting on 8 August.
