Ukraine will receive Western aircraft, this work has already begun. A corresponding statement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
“There is no doubt that our state will receive Western fighter aircraft. This work has already begun,” the foreign minister said.
According to him, in recent months, the issue of supplying Ukraine with six important types of Western-style weapons has been resolved: anti-tank weapons, artillery, MLRS, tanks, missiles, and air defense systems.
“It remains to agree on the supply of aircraft. The struggle for them should be structured a little differently,” the minister said.
Kuleba emphasised that the top-priority task for Ukrainian diplomacy in 2023 is a fast and stable weapons supply. It’s about the weapons the partners have already pledged to Ukraine, as well as about attracting new types.
The minister also expressed confidence that NATO member states will redouble their efforts to produce weapons and ammunition and coordinate training programmes for the Ukrainian military.
Ukraine’s top diplomat also announced a joint meeting of representatives of the defence industries of Ukraine and Germany to discuss further steps to strengthen the defence capabilities of our country.
