Counterintelligence Exposes Network of Russia’s FSB Agents in Donetsk Region

Ukrainian counterintelligence officers stopped the activity of the agent network in the Donetsk region, which operated under the supervision of the FSB of the Russian Federation. The network was headed by a militant of the reconnaissance unit of the illegal armed formation “DPR.”

The special services established that citizens of Ukraine were among the group members. They were recruited in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region and routed for spying on military facilities in the Joint Forces Operation area conducting subversive actions.

One of the network members was detained, charged with committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and taken into custody as a pre-trial restriction. Сharges and pre-trial restrictions for other members are pending.
