Officials in Baku and Yerevan have released the data on casualties during the outbreak of the military conflict in Nagorny Karabakh. The Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan informed that more than 550 Armenian militarists were killed, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
In addition, the Armenian Armed Forces lost 22 tanks and other heavy armoured vehicles, 15 units of anti-aircraft missile systems, 18 drones, eight artillery units, as well as three ammunition depots.
At the same time during a briefing on 27 September, the Armenian Defence Ministry representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan reported about 200 dead Azerbaijan military. Baku lost about 30 units of armoured vehicles and about 20 drones.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has already responded to the conflict escalation the between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorny Karabakh region.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is deeply concerned about the escalation of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We carefully study the circumstances that led to escalation. We call for the parties to return to the dialogue for the peaceful settlement of the conflict. We sympathise with the victims’ relatives and friends,” the diplomats said in the statement.
To recap, the Azerbaijan army command decided to launch a counter-offensive operation on the Armenian armed forces along the entire front near Nagorny Karabakh on the morning of 27 September.
