The Ukrainian military continues to advance in the direction of Bakhmut. The defence forces managed to take up more than 10 positions of the Russian occupiers.
“We continue moving forward in the Bakhmut direction, in the suburbs. Today, our units took up more than 10 enemy positions in the north and south of the outskirts of Bakhmut and mopped up a large forest area near Ivanivske. Enemy soldiers from different units were captured,” Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar said.
Currently, the Russians cannot surround the city and achieve victory in this direction.
“Thanks to the well-thought-out command planning and the instant reaction to the enemy actions, the resilience and courage of our soldiers, the enemy cannot surround the city and achieve a resounding victory in this direction as of now,” Maliar emphasised.
She noted that it is “very hot” in Bakhmut itself: there, the occupiers gathered all their forces and tried to advance, “destroying everything in their path.” Fierce fighting continues.
“Against all odds. When the impossible is possible. Anyone who knows the real situation and is there right now understands all the acuteness. This is when 1 metre is equal to 10 kilometres in terms of difficulty in performing missions. Our troops operate to the limit of superhuman capabilities. They act firmly, resolutely, and professionally,” the representative of the Ministry of Defence stressed.
