The Eastern Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has launched an offensive in several directions simultaneously. The enemy is holding defence and making efforts to stop the offensive of the Armed Forces in southern Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Malyar reported on Telegram.
“The Eastern Grouping of Troops has launched the offensive in several directions at once: towards Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Yahidne, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka. There is progress on all fronts,” the official said.
She added that in the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Marinka directions, the enemy made attempts to advance but failed. In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarske directions, Russian troops launched air and artillery strikes.
Fierce battles are raging across all offensive directions in southern Ukraine.
“The enemy is holding defence and making efforts to stop our counteroffensive actions. At the same time, they are suffering significant losses in terms of personnel, ammunition, and military equipment,” the Deputy Minister of Defence said.
The UK Ministry of Defence, with reference to intelligence, confirms that in recent days, Ukrainian forces have re-set and have again been undertaking major offensive operations on three main axes in southern and eastern Ukraine.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are using the experiences from the first two weeks of the counteroffensive to refine tactics for assaulting the deep, well-prepared Russian defences. Ukrainian units are making gradual but steady tactical progress in key areas.
