In the city of Schastia, Luhansk region, the construction of a new entry-exit checkpoint (CPEE) on the line of demarcation of the occupied areas of Donbas and the territories controlled by the Ukrainian government is still on.
According to the Headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation on its Facebook page, the opening of the Schastia Checkpoint is scheduled for 10 November this year.
“With the support of international humanitarian organisations, the new checkpoint will be equipped with sanitary zones, medical modules, administrative service points, a heating point and tents for people crossing the CPEE,” it was said in the statement.
The expected capacity of the new checkpoint is 10,000 to 15,000 people per day.
It should be recalled that the decision to establish a new CPEE in Schastia and Zolotyi was made on 22 July 2020 at a meeting of the Tripartite Contact Group. Currently, there is only one checkpoint in Luhansk Oblast in Stanytsia Luhanska.
