On June 12 with the ICUV – International Centre for Ukrainian Victory we coorganized a demonstration aimed at calling G7 leaders for decisive measures to enable the use of the immobilised Russian state assets for the reconstruction and continued war defence efforts of Ukraine.
We thank all the activists who came to demonstration.
Also we express our big gratitude to a Belgian politician Mark Demesmaeker for endless support to Ukraine, and for taking the floor during this demonstration!
Similar demonstrations calling for the confiscation of assets were held throughout the G7 countries, and we can already see the first results. The G7 countries agreed to allocate $50 billion of frozen assets to Ukraine.
In particular, this became possible, thanks to the joint struggle and pressure of Ukrainian civil society.
We welcome this first step. However, this is only the beginning! We will continue to work to bring Russia to full accountability. And to ensure that the G7 and the EU find a legal way to confiscate all frozen assets.
We encourage everyone to join the following demonstrations! You can straighten the voice of Ukrainian civil society in Brussels!
