Today, we remember the brutal crimes committed by Russia in Bucha. In spring 2022, more than 422 residents of the city died at the hands of the Russian invaders. After the liberation of the city, bodies of tortured civilians, raped women and children were found on the streets. The occupation of Bucha lasted more than a month. Russia mercilessly destroyed buildings and committed genocide of the Ukrainian population.
These acts of cruelty are a violation of international law. As long as these crimes go unpunished, they become part of the lawlessness and impunity that a civilised society must stop and prevent.
The world has no right to allow such tragedies to happen again. Russia must be stopped now or the crimes will continue.
